Dolores Pauline Norris, 84, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on November 14, 2015. She was born December 19, 1930 in Burnet, Indiana to Chester McClain and Annie Constance (Marquis) McClain. Dolores was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, canning food, and sewing. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents and brother Robert McClain. She is survived by her husband of 29 years Gerald Norris; children Johnny Conley, Paula Conley, and Doris Brucken (husband Steve); grandchildren Justin Mitchell and Jeri Lynn Kelter; great grandson Elliott C. Kelter; sister Joan Thomas; and special aunt Velma Newton. In honoring her wishes, cremation has been chosen. Patrick Dowell
Patrick “Pat” K. Dowell, 54, of Terre Haute, passed away Tuesday November 17, 2015 in Union Hospital surrounded by his family. Pat was born on May 18, 1961 to William E. Dowell and Lois J. Fox Dowell, his parents preceded him in death. Pat was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid football fan having season tickets to the Colts which he often attended with his son. He enjoyed NASCAR, Brickyard 500, bowling, grilling out and will be remembered for his great sense of humor. Pat was the former co-owner of J.J. Smith Flower Shop and Gardens and had formerly worked for the Vigo County School Corporation. Pat is survived by his wife, Paula Stultz Dowell whom he married in 1987. He is survived by one son, Patrick Dowell of Terre Haute, one brother, Mike Dowell and his wife Debbie of Terre Haute. Survivors include a nephew Josh Dowell, niece Erin Dowell, nephew Danny Dowell and a niece Michelle Dowell. A great nephew Mattox and great niece Lucy also survive as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and brother’s in-laws and sister’s in-laws. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Monday November 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 2322 North 13th ½ Street, Terre Haute, IN., 47804. Patricia A. Phillips, 84, of Terre Haute, passed away Tuesday November 17, 2015 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. Patricia was born in Terre Haute on August 2, 1931 to William F. Bauer and Margaret T. Murdock Bauer. She was a 1950 graduate of Wiley High School and was retired after 40 years as a bookkeeper for Heine and Son and had formerly worked for Sherwin Williams in Ohio and in California. She was a member of the Blue Triangle Club where she served as treasurer for two years, she was also a member of The Special Interest Car Club of Terre Haute where she served as treasurer for three years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leighton Phillips and a brother, David L. Bauer. She is survived by one daughter; Jacqueline Heintz and her husband Kurt of Terre Haute, one brother, William H. Bauer and his wife Dorothy of Terre Haute. She is survived by two grandchildren; Levi Keltz and his significant other Courtney Scheid and Tashawna N. Buckelew and her husband Roger of Manassas, VA., and several Nieces and Nephews. Eugene Baker
Eugene R. Baker, 81, of Terre Haute, passed away Wednesday November 18, 2015 in his residence. Eugene was born June 6, 1934 in rural Indiana to Raymond Baker and Frances Price Baker. He was retired from Stran Steel and was a member of Union Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, taking care of his horses and working in his garage and barn. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Virginia Tryon and her husband Richard and a brother in-law Dale Hunt. He is survived by his wife, Alice Loveall Baker whom he married June 14, 1951. He is also survived by a daughter, Regina Baker of Terre Haute and three sons; Russell Eugene Baker, Rex Leon Baker and Ronnie Joe Baker, all of Terre Haute. Two sisters survive; Ruth Payne and her husband Jim and Barbara Hunt all of Terre Haute. Two brothers; Roland Baker and his wife Patricia of Terre Haute and Raymond Baker and his wife Ida Marie of Sarasota, FL. Also surviving are five grandchildren; Amy Eickmeier and her husband Josh, Bobbi Gale Keegan, Matthew Baker, Parker Baker and Kelsey Baker. Four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Dr. Richard Joseph Casserly, 65, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away with his loving family by his side on November 22, 2015. He was born in Amityville, New York to John Thomas Casserly and Lillian Rose Palagonia Casserly on August 30, 1950. Richard was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. Richard was a Psychologist and owned his own practice in Brazil, Indiana, Casserly and Associates. Richard is survived by his daughters Colleen Casserly- Held and Candice Casserly; grandchildren Ellison, Matthew, Azilynn, and Jameson; and siblings John Casserly, Peter Casserly, Sharon McKee, Deborah Longfelder, and Brian Casserly. Virginia Rose Fairbanks Murphy Scott of Lexington, Kentucky, and formerly of Terre Haute, passed away November 27, 2015 in Lexington, Kentucky. Virginia was born on September 16, 1923 in Terre Haute to William and Helen Stewart Fairbanks. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband and father of her three daughters, James H. Murphy, and her second husband James R. Scott. Virginia was also preceded in death by her brother, William M. Fairbanks and a sister in law Freida Fairbanks. She is survived by her three daughters, Mary E. Barron of Lexington, KY., Peggy Solomon and her husband Gus and Helen “Rene” Kester, all of Terre Haute. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Jennifer Towns and her husband William, Jimmy Barron, Melissa Moore and her husband Christopher, Harry Barron Jr. and his wife Amy, Sean Kester and his wife Tanya. She is also survived by ten great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her forever friend Shirley McCartney and her daughter Jane Totten. She was a member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church. John Mathews Campbell, 74, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away November 23, 2015. He was born September 26, 1941 in Niagara Falls, New York to John Campbell and Sarah (Caldwell) Campbell. John served in the United States Army. He worked self-employed from the age of fourteen to his retirement as a mechanic. John was a loving father. He is preceded in death by his parents. Cora Lee Barnhart,78, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away November 28, 2015. She was born March 18, 1937 in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Harry Milner and Lydia (Garrigus) Milner. Cora is survived by her daughters Rayetta Clem and Rhonda Taylor; grandchildren Kaycie Clem, Kellie Upperman, Darci Watson, Travis James, and Matti Taylor; sisters Anna Fagg, Virginia Beck, Kathryn King, and Carolyn Lanning; brothers Walter Milner and Bill Milner; and several nieces and nephews. Lucile Taylor-Schmidt
Lucile (Taylor) Schmidt arrived in heaven as one of God’s special angels on December 1, 2015. Lucile was born to Bessie and Isaac Daniel on November 16, 1919 at Sand Ridge, Indiana near Clinton. Lucile was a 1938 graduate of Rosedale High School and entered Indiana State Normal College where she majored in music, graduating in 1942. Soon after her graduation, Lucile met the love of her life and married her soul mate George R. Taylor who served in the United States Army and thus began an adventurous start to their marriage traveling to various installations he was assigned to. They had three boys, Bill, Dan, and Tim. In 1988 after 6 years of marriage, George went to be with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Lucile loved music, excelled as a teacher, conductor, and band leader, teaching in both public schools and privately. She devoted many tireless hours while starting a choir at Christus Victor Lutheran Church and renewing the choir at Christ Lutheran Church. After 5 years as a widow, Lucile and fellow church member and friend, Martin Schmidt, married in 1993, and traveled together to many wonderful locations abroad visiting his family in Turkey and Germany. Martin was a precious soul and left this world into his savior’s arms in 2001, leaving Lucile a widow once again. Lucile was preceded in death by grandson John W. Taylor and great great grandson Mathew Lewis. She leaves behind 3 sons Bill, Dan, and Tim; daughter-in-laws Jackie wife of Bill, and Kim wife of Tim, 14 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Arthur Stultz
Arthur Webb “Pudge” Stultz Jr., 71, of Terre Haute, passed away December 7, 2015 at Union Hospital with his family by his side. He was a retired bundle driver for the Tribune Star newspaper. He was born September 9, 1944 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Arthur W. Stultz Sr. and Betty R. (Price) Stultz. Survivors include his wife Maureen L. Stultz, whom he married on November 23, 1963; daughter and son-in-law Christine and Randy Wilson; son and daughter-in-law Greg and Jill Stultz; four grandchildren Bridget Hill (Brian), Dustin Hill, Steve Judson (Amanda), and Angie Judson; eight great grandchildren; and sister Delina Anderson of Brownsburg, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Craig Hill, and brother-in-law Larry “Mick” Anderson. Arthur was a 1962 graduate of Garfield High School. He served four years in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion since 1966, belonging to the Kristenstein Post 104. He also was a member of the Masonic 12 points Lodge 769 F&M and Zorah Shrine. He was a past member of the North Terre Haute Volunteer Fire Department for 16 years. He was a retired member of Teamsters Union Local 135 (he retired in August of 2002). Arthur enjoyed working Bingo at the Zorah Shrine, playing pool, NASCAR, and camping. Richard A. Saylor, 48, of Terre Haute, passed away on Tuesday December 8, 2015. Richard was born on May 30, 1967 in Terre Haute to Arnold Saylor and Ella Marie Jeffries Saylor. Richard was a 1985 graduate of Terre Haute South High School and attended Indiana State University. Richard was an avid traveler, traveling to many countries around the world. He enjoyed reading and spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his brother, Michael “Mike” Saylor in November of 2014, his grandparents Everett and Jessie Jeffries and an aunt, Wilma Lundey. Richard is survived by his parents Arnold and Ella Marie Jeffries Saylor of Terre Haute. He is also survived by two brothers; Gary Saylor and his wife Janet of Summerville, South Carolina and Dan Saylor and his wife Leslee, of Newburgh, Indiana. She is survived by her husband of 18 years Richard Hendricks; children Amy Carter (Eric), Daniel Hixon (Heather), Ashley Orchard, and Austin Hendricks; grandchildren Crystal, Daniel, Casey, Brayden, Collin, Coleson, Bransen, Cohen, and one girl on the way; sisters Paula Shaffer (Mark) and Diana Shaffer (Larry); and several nieces and nephews. Darrell Edmonson
Darrell Dean Edmonson, Sr., 63, of Terre Haute passed away in his home due to complications of M.S. and cancer.
Darrell was born September 24, 1952 in Jasonville, Indiana to Chester B. Edmonson and Netta M. Higar Edmonson.
He was a graduate of Shakamak High School. Darrell retired from Ironworkers of Local #439 after more than thirty years of service. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping, spending time with his family and friends, and traveling with his wife.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Donnie Edmonson.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carla D. Stevenson Edmonson; his son, Darrell Edmonson, Jr. of Terre Haute; daughter, Susan Hughes and her husband, Larry of West Lafayette, Indiana; two granddaughters, Chelsea Edmonson and Sierra Hughes. Darrell is also survived by his brothers, John Edmonson and his wife, Rose Ella, Chester Edmonson and his wife, Vickie, James Edmonson and his wife, Judy; his sister, Judith Edmonson Samm and her husband, Larry; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In honor of Darrell’s wishes, cremation was chosen. Joseph Sims
Joseph Marc Sims, 73, of Terre Haute passed away on Thursday December 17, 2015. He was born September 11, 1942 to Joseph Ray Sims and Elisabeth Bond Sims in Terre Haute. After graduating from Otter Creek High School, Marc went straight into the Marines serving during the Vietnam War. Marc had a very long and outstanding career in law enforcement serving with the Vigo County Sheriffs Department, ISU police department, Texas Peace Officer, and the Marion County Sheriffs department. He retired after 23 years as a deputy for Marion County. He received the America Red Cross Hall of Fame award for an act of bravery. Marc participated in mixed martial arts becoming an instructor and attaining the degree of black belt in Judo. At one point, Marc ran his own self defense training business in Indianapolis called Street Wise. Marc had a great interest in cars especially Corvettes, other interest included traveling to the Tennessee Mountains and Texas. He was the oldest of five siblings, which made him a very caring man who served his family, his community, and his country. He will be deeply missed.
Marc was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Joseph Niell Sims who passed in 2008.
Marc is survived by a daughter, Natasha Conner, three brothers; Doug McPheeters, Marty McPheeters, and Drew McPheeters (Julie), a sister, Beth Lutz (Emory), ten grandchildren; Jansen, Zach, and Braden Sims, Jacob, Christian, Maranda, Joseph, and Hannah Conner, Thomas Hughes Jr. and Peyton Hughes, a great grandchild, Carter Allen Sims.
Services will be held Monday December 21, 2015 at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana at 5 p.m. A visitation is scheduled from 3 p.m. until service time on Monday. Rondal L. Love, 43, of Terre Haute, passed away Tuesday December 22 in his residence. Rondal was born May 25, 1972 in Terre Haute to Ralph Love and Ronetta Griggs Love. He was preceded in death by his father on January 22, 2003. Rondal was a graduate of Terre Haute South Vigo, Long's School of Cosmetology and The Culinary Institute of America. Rondal had formerly worked at J.C. Penney as a hairdresser and AGIS Communication. He was a Master Gardner and a member of the Master Gardner’s Association, the Indiana Gospel Music Association and a Past President of the Riley Lions Club. Rondal loved Gospel Music was known for his beautiful voice. Rondel is survived by his mother, Ronetta Love of Riley, a brother, Robert Love of Riley, his maternal Grandmother, June Griggs of Riley, an uncle, William Griggs of Terre Haute and a cousin, Tiffany Phillips of Veedersburg, IN. Carl Albert Adams Jr., 43, of Terre Haute passed away unexpectedly on December 22, 2015. He was born December 4, 1972 in Chicago Illinois to Carl Albert Adams Sr. and Donna Bueche Adams. Carl was a graduate of Morton East High School class of 1994, He was a DJ in Chicago and well known by the name ‘Cool C’. He loved music especially House music. He was a very talented artist as well. He enjoyed taking trips to Chicago. His greatest achievement was his children, he loved them with everything he had. He cared very deeply for his family and loved spending time with them.
He is survived by his parents, a son, Carl Albert Adams III, two daughters; Moniquie Adams and Brittany Bendekovich, a brother, James Richard Adams, two sisters; Kimberly Betz and Angela Strand, two grandchildren; Layla Gillis and Heidi Hunter, and several nieces and nephews.

David Leon Powers, 77, of Terre Haute, Indiana crossed over on December 27, 2015. He was born April 11, 1938 to Freddie J. Powers and Zelia Rose Brock. He was a truck driver for many years with his father and brothers. He loved fishing, gardening, his horses, dogs, and western movies. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Carol Powers; four children Karen Hays (Crafton Bealmear), Randall Powers, Andrea Shepherd (Clifford Chatham), and Samuel Power (Chelsea); six grandsons Brent Powers (Amanda), Joshua Powers, Andrew Shepherd, Tyler Shepherd, Adam Lyday, and Alexander Powers; granddaughter Cailyn Strader; brothers James Powers and Donald Powers (Donna), sister-in-law Linda Powers; and several niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Thomas Powers; and sister Freda Rose Hojem. Cremation has been chosen, with no services per his request. Deborah Lynn Doss, 51, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away December 30, 2015. She was born July 15, 1964 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Clyde and Reba (Crabtree) Doss. Deborah was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was funny, caring, and always had people smiling. She is survived by her children Reba Jeffrey (Shawn Carney), Travis Jeffrey (Grace Sutherland), and Matthew Jeffrey; grandchildren Aryal Carney, Hagen Jeffrey, and Braden Jeffrey; siblings Patsy Doss (Carl Ross), Wanda Atkinson (Jerry), Jody (Dickie) Atkinson, Betty Bussman, Junior Doss, Bobby Doss, and Raymond Doss; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Mike Doss, brother-in-law Bob Bussman. Funeral services are scheduled for 12:00p.m., Tuesday, January 5, 2016 in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana 47804. Pastor Dustin Spitler will be officiating. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00p.m. until 12:00p.m.
