Larry Max Blair, 75, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away March 7, 2016. He was born June 15, 1940 in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Harold J. Blair and Maxine (Bell) Blair. Larry retired from Bemis as a Press Operator. He enjoyed gardening, hunting fishing, the outdoors, and golf. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Etta Blair; and siblings James Blair, Pat Martin, and Shirley Spurgin. He is survived by his siblings Harold “Arch” Blair, Richard Blair, his wife Pam, and Darlene (Blair) Pinegar; special niece and nephews Loir Hart, her husband Ken, Adam Spurgin, his wife Cori, Vic Mullen, and his wife Carol; and many other nieces and nephews. Dr. Robert Clouse
Dr. Robert G. Clouse, of Terre Haute, passed away Saturday May 8, 2016 at his residence. Dr. Clouse was born August 26, 1931 to Garry Clouse and Marion Culp Clouse in Mansfield, OH. Dr.Clouse began his education at Ashland College and received his BA in history from Bryan College. He earned his B.D. from Grace Theological Seminary in 1957. Dr. Clouse was awarded his MA in 1960 and PhD in 1963 from the University of Iowa Dr. Clouse taught history at several colleges and universities, spending the bulk of his career at Indiana State University. He was visiting professor at the University of Illinois, Indiana University, and Juniata College, where he was the J. Omar Good Visiting Professor of Christianity. In addition to his academic career, Dr. Clouse has served as pastor of several Grace Brethren Church congregations in both Iowa and Illinois. Dr. Clouse was considered a leading expert in millennial thought and eschatological studies, having presented over 18 major lectures, and written more than 5 books on the subject. His The Meaning of the Millennium was a best seller. His most recent book, The End of Days, explores apocalyptic literature, Biblical and Hebrew scriptures, writings of the Church Fathers and radical movements throughout history. In addition to his millennial studies, Dr. Clouse has contributed articles and chapters in numerous books on Christian Church history, Renaissance and Reformation history, and war and peace studies. His most important work as a historian of Christianity is Two Kingdoms: The Church and Culture Through the Ages, which he coauthored with Richard V. Pierard and Edwin Yamauchi. He is the author or coauthor of Puritans, the Millennium and the Future of Israel, The Cross and the Flag, The Church in an Age of Orthodoxy and Enlightenment, War, Four Christian Views and Women in Ministry, Four Views. Clouse was a founder of the Conference on Faith and History, member of the editorial board of the Brethren Encyclopedia, and contributing editor of the New Twentieth Century Encyclopedia of Religious Knowledge and attended Terre Haute First Baptist Church. Having received a heart transplant in 1985 when the procedure was still considered quite risky, Clouse worked for organ transplant groups to encourage donation. His case was widely publicized in religious, as well as medical publications. Clouse served Indiana State University in a variety of positions, including President of the Faculty Senate on four occasions. He received the ISU Faculty Distinguished Service Award in 2000, and the Creativity and Research Award in 1986. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Eugene V. Debs Foundation and received Indiana Heart Association Life Achievement Award in 1987. Dr. Clouse dedicated his time and talents to Indiana State University as well as his generosity. Dr. Clouse is survived by his wife Bonnidell Barrows Clouse, whom he married in 1955. He is survived by two sons; Gary Clouse and his wife Shuko of West Los Angeles, CA., and Ken Clouse and his wife Rose of New Orleans, LA. He is survived by one sister, Ruth Seibold of Columbus, OH. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Sarah Clouse, Alexander Clouse, Gabrielle Clouse and Andrew Clouse as well as nieces and nephews. Services are scheduled for Tuesday May 10, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, IN., 47804. Clarence Martin Muncie “Butch”, 74, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away May 10, 2016. He was born February 12, 1942 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Ralph Freemen Muncie and Lista (Camp) Muncie. Clarence retired from Terre Haute Regional Hospital as a Surgery Technician. He enjoyed gardening, walking his two dogs Toby and TJ. He was a member of Maple Avenue United Methodist Church, where he was involved in many projects. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Carol S. (Benefield) Muncie; son James Edward Muncie; sisters Pamela Brown, her husband William, Mildred Smith, her husband Dwight, and Ann Roth; sister-in-law Donna Royse; brother-in-law Ron Benefield, and his wife Susan; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and friends from church. Oscar R. Nipple, 94, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away with his loving family by his side on May 12, 2016 at 12:30 a.m. He was born January 7, 1922 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Francis Nipple and Stella (Waggoner) Nipple. Oscar graduated from Garfield High School in 1940, and went on to graduate from Indiana Business College. He managed Barings Inc for many years. He was a member of the Maple Avenue United Methodist Church. He enjoyed golfing. Oscar was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His daughter Barbara Barbin and his son-in-law Louis provided care for Oscar over the last couple of years. Oscar was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 64 years Hazel M Nipple; daughter Marilyn K. Nipple; and siblings John Nipple, Harold Nipple, Karl Nipple, and Mary Harvey. He is survived by his daughter Barbara Barbin, her husband Louis; grandchildren Amy Banta, her husband Eric, Kimberly Dennis, and her husband Keith; great grandchildren Alex, Savannah, Chloe, and Chelsea; and several nieces and nephews. Patricia A. Burton Hall of Terre Haute passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 in Meadows Manor North.
Patricia was born in Terre Haute to David Lawrence Burton and Bernice Bonte Burton.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Patricia was a very loving wife who could keep a house. She was a good mother, loved to cook, read cook books and cooking magazines and watch the Food Network. She enjoyed HGTV and Hallmark movies. In her younger days, she enjoyed traveling. She loved Michigan, Tennessee and Florida and traveled to Europe in 1982. Patricia also loved to shop. Her family was her greatest joy.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Eugene Lawrence Burton; and a nephew, David Lawrence Burton.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jackie J. Hall; her daughter, Brenda Hall; a sister-in-law, Wilma Coleman; two nieces, Karen D’Angelo and Deborah Kane and her husband, Michael; a nephew, Christopher Burton Sr. and his wife, Kerri; and several great nieces and nephews.

Charley R. Urbain Jr., 47, of Terre Haute, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016, at Union Hospital. He was born to Charley R. Urbain and Lucy Reed Urbain on March 26, 1969. He is survived by his wife Melissa Stearley Urbain, whom he married April 13, 1990; and his mother, Lucy Tryon and his beloved father, Frank Tryon Sr.,and sons, Ryan Urbain of Brazil , Dustin Urbain, and Joshua Urbain of Terre Haute. Also survived by brothers, Frank Tryon Jr., of Niles, Michigan, Daniel Tryon, of Terre Haute, and sisters Donna Tryon of Clay, West Virginia, Lisa Tryon, and Cathy Wenzel of Terre Haute. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Josilyn Urbain and Landon Urbain, of Brazil, and mother-in-law Janet Stearley. He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul "Robert" Urbain and Charley Urbain Sr., grandparents, and father-in-law Norman Stearley. Charley loved anything to do with automobiles. He was asst. manager for Auto Zone, manager at Goodyear Tires, and worked in several auto body shops in his younger days. Never one to shirk duty, he worked until he was stricken with severe rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, and heart related problems. He enjoyed spending time fishing with his sons and playing with his grandchildren. In honoring Charleys wishes, cremation has been chosen. Daniel Martin Ellinger, Sr passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 in Regional Hospital.
Daniel was born to William and Rosemary Lawrence Ellinger on February 4, 1953.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joyce Day Ellinger; one son, Daniel Ellinger Jr.; and one daughter, Mendi Utterback; his pride and joy grandchildren, Logan Ellinger and Jessica of Lafayette, Indiana, Gabby Tarwater, David Utterback, Jr. and Daniel Ellinger III, all of Terre Haute. He is also survived by two brothers, William “JR” Ellinger and Betty Lou and Max Ellinger and Donna; two sisters, Brenda Bess and Dave and Donna Uhey and Mark, all of Terre Haute; five brother in laws, Randy Day and Loretta of Farmersburg, David Day, Wayne Day and MaryAnn, Scott Day and Amy, all of Sullivan and Charles Day and Patty of Texas; three sister in laws, Tammy Day of Terre Haute, Teresa Cox and Jim of Sullivan, and Peggy Glover and Mike of Texas; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Daniel is also survived by his good buddy, Jerry Bandfield and his friends at the Honey Bucket.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Charles “Dick” and Delores Day; two brothers, Johnny Ellinger and Jerry Ellinger; two sisters, Carolyn Unraw and Janet Ellinger; brother in law, Ronnie Day; and good buddy, Les McDurmon.
Daniel retired from Wabash Valley Asphalt with the Operating Engineers Local #841. He loved NASCAR and was a member of the “Good Ole Boys” Racing Group. When he was younger, he loved to hunt, fish and go mushroom hunting. He enjoyed boating on the river, especially in the pontoon boat. He won several trophies shooting pool and loved playing horse shoes.

Michael Thomas Hedges Sr., 56, of Terre Haute passed away May 22, 2016 at 6:55 p.m. in his home surrounded by family. He was born March 23, 1960 in Anderson, Indiana to Harry C. Hedges Jr. and Kay F. Garrison Hedges. Michael was a landscaper by trade, and it was also his passion. He loved being outdoors; fishing, trapping, and just enjoying nature were some of his favorite activities. Michael’s dream was to move to Alaska and live off the land. He was a family man, who loved his family very much. He would do anything for anyone. He didn’t want for much, and would consider himself a simple man. He will be deeply missed.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Hazel Utley
Hazel L. Utley, 91, of Indianapolis and formerly of Terre Haute, passed away Monday May 23, 2016. Hazel was born March 10, 1925 in Terre Haute to Elizia Stevens and Ada Belle Matchen Stevens. She was a member of Bethlehem Temple Church, she enjoyed sewing and was known as an excellent cook. She was a full time mom raising ten children and had formerly volunteered at Hyte Center. She attended Booker T. Washington Elementary, Sarah Scott Middle School and Wiley High School. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lawrence H. Utley who died in 1993, whom she married August 3, 1942. She was also proceeded in death by three brothers; Elsia Stevens, Alphonso Stevens and John Stevens. She is survived by two sisters; Geraldine Stevens Harris of Terre Haute and Alice Stevens Little and her husband Daniel of Oklahoma City, OK. She is survived by ten children; Lawrence H. Utley Jr. and his wife Angela of Peidmont, AL., Marvin L. Utley and his wife Linda of Terre Haute, Wanda M. Utley of Indianapolis, Geraldine Utley Brown and her husband James of Canton, MI., Anthony E. Utley of Indianapolis, IN., Timothy Utley and his wife Theresa of Atlanta GA., Nathaniel Utley of Indianapolis, IN., Philip C. Utley and his wife Marsha of Atlanta, GA., Hazel D.L. Utley of Indianapolis and Michael Utley and his wife Angela of Danville, IN. She is survived by 23 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren as well and many nieces and nephews. Wesley Carroll
Wesley Carroll, 91, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away May 26, 2016 with his loving family by his side. He was born July 3, 1924 in Bingham, Kentucky to John Carroll and Pearl (Vaughn) Carroll. Wesley serviced in the Civilian Conservation Corp Prior to serving in the United States Army during WWII. He was a disabled American Veteran. Wesley retired as an owner/operator truck driver leasing with several different companies in a trucking career lasting for more than 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, feeding and watching the birds and squirrels in his backyard, and listening to old time country music. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. He was always there to lend a helping hand to his children. Wesley had a soft heart for animals which he passed on to his daughter. He is survived by the love of his life of almost 63 years Betty (Whiteman) Carroll; daughter Caroline Bradley, her husband Richard; stepson Eddie Church, his wife Hazel; and grandchildren Rueshee Church and Jacob Church. Wesley was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, and 5 sisters. Per his wishes, a short private funeral service will be held Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Roselawn Memorial Park. Thomas Silcott
Thomas William Silcott, 55, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away at his residence on Friday, May 27, 2016. He was born October 10, 1960. Tom loved learning about his family heritage and attending numerous car shows around the Terre Haute area to display his 1966 aqua blue Chevy Impala which was his pride and joy. He received several trophies and awards over the years from the car shows. He loved family gatherings, working on old cars, and repairing antiques for friends. He kept his old and faithful blue Chevy truck running around town for many years. Tom enjoyed the company of his beloved cat named Nermal for several years. Tom had a real passion for reading, writing, history, and could recall names, dates, and events better than anyone else. Tom graduated from Terre Haute North in 1980 and then graduated from Ivy Tech majoring in Auto Mechanics.
Tom is survived by his loving mom and dad, Judy (White) and Jim Smith of Terre Haute, 2 brothers, Timothy Smith (and wife, Karla) of Terre Haute and Trevor Smith of Terre Haute. He had one nephew, Zak Smith (and wife, Amy) and a great nephew, Banks Smith, all of Terre Haute. His aunt and uncle, Janice and Jon Gray of Florida, always had a special place in his heart. Tom had many good memories with his 5 cousins: David, Scott, Todd, Shannon, and Shelly, as well as other family members and friends who cared for him. A big thanks to Tom’s next door neighbor, Jamie, for always looking after him each day.

Chase Douglas Rexroat, 17, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away May 29, 2016. He was born September 23, 1998 in Brazil, Indiana. Chase was a student at Terre Haute South Vigo High School, he was completing his junior year. He played clarinet and percussion in the band and sang in the choir. He was a member of the chess and book clubs. Chase also attended Sarah Scott Middle School, where he won spelling bees. He also sat on many academic teams, one of which won first place at the Area Academic Super Bowl in the Science division. Chase was an avid reader and loved to learn and gain information and knowledge. Chase is survived by his parents Ryan and Hillary Shepherd; siblings Hannah Shepherd (Taylor Greven), Heavin Shepherd (Kelsey Lindsay), Henry Shepherd, Hadlie Shepherd, Rollie Shepherd, Cameron Rund, Larry Jeffrey, Nathan Millis, Deavin Rogan, and countless other siblings throughout his life; niece and nephew Haddie and Thaddeus Greven; grandparents Janice and David Heavin and Kay and Gary Shepherd; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his biological mother Tiara Jackson. Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, June 4, 2016 at First Baptist North, 2944 E Hall Ave, Terre Haute, IN 47804, at 1:00p.m. Family and friends are welcome to come and share memories of Chase from 11:00a.m. until service time at the church. Chase was not a big fan dressing fancy and formal. His family will be wearing super hero shirts. Feel free to wear your own comic logo'ed super hero clothing in his honor. Since Chase loved reading so much, the family is asking that no flowers be sent for services, but instead, please bring a book or comic book to donate. Diane Mangino
Diane Mangino, 72, of Terre Haute passed away Thursday June 2, 2016 at 6:27 a.m. in Union Hospital. Diane was born December 3, 1943 in Morehead Kentucky to Charles Nichols and Anna Smith Nichols. Diane worked in the hospital setting for many years at the Ohio Valley Medical Center in West Virginia. She and her family moved from West Virginia to Indiana around 2012 because of health reasons. She loved cooking especially homemade spaghetti and meatballs. She enjoyed snuggling up in a cozy blanket and working on word search puzzles. Diane liked to travel; she and her family would take a trip to Florida. She was very devoted to her husband and to her family. Family would like to give a big thank you to Jodi, for taking such good care of her. Special thanks to granddaughter Brittney and grandson Anthony for standing by her side.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents, two sons; Joe Mangino, and Charles Richard Mangino, brother, Joe Mangino, sisters; Jewel Castle and her husband Junior, and Chloe Nichols, sisters-in-laws; Marge Schultz, and Carol Nichols.
She is survived by her husband, her one and only, of 57 years, Charles Mangino, a son, Tony Mangino and his wife Suzy, and, daughter Kim “Peaches” Mangino, brothers; Lee Nichols and his wife Stella, and Nick Nichols, sisters; Mary Alice Green, Sheila Thomas, Jenny Howard, and Immogene, brother in law, Francis Mangino and his wife Sue, several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and a special kitty Leah.

Shamieh Tanoos
Shamieh “Mimi” Tanoos, 76, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away June 9, 2016 in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was born on December 20, 1939 in Damascus, Syria to Mousa and Zahia Malooley. She was a homemaker and was a daycare provider in her home. Shamiah was a member of St. George Orthodox Church. She enjoyed cooking, making holy bread every week for her church, spending time with her children and grandchildren, crocheting and sewing. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Naayf Malooley, Saleen Malooley, and Rasheed Malooley; her mother and father in – law Peter and Wanda Tanoos and sister and brother-in-law Mary Tanoos, Thomas Tanoos, and Richard “Dicky” Tanoos. She was also preceded by a special aunt, Latifa Kassis. She is survived by her husband Louis “Lewis” Tanoos, whom she married August 19, 1962, son Sam Tanoos, his wife Angie of Newburgh, Indiana; daughter Lou Ann Wisbey, her husband Brad of Terre Haute, Indiana; grandchildren Ariana Nicole Tanoos, Samuel Lewis Tanoos, Alexander Lewis Wisbey, Alexis Renee Tanoos, Aric Bradley Wisbey, Aaron Nicholas Wisbey; sister Adla Malooley of Indianapolis, Indiana; brother Afeef Malooley of Damascus, Syria, Fouad Malooley of Damascus Syria, Hane Malooley and his wife Merlyn of Indianapolis, Indiana, Nichola Malooley of Damascus, Syria; nieces and nephews Elizabeth Malooley, Jonathan Malooley, Joseph Malooley, Tony Tanoos, Danny Tanoos, his wife Claudia, Pete Tanoos, T.J. Charles Jarrett
Charles A. "Tony" Jarrett, 93, passed away at 11:10 a.m. on June 9, 2016 at his residence. He was born on August 30, 1922 in Terre Haute to Charles W. and Pearl M. Jarrett.
He graduated from Indiana State Laboratory High School in 1940. He was married to Barbara Ann Rockwood on August 29, 1942. He served 38 months in the US Army 721st Railway Battalion in the China/Burma/India Theater during World War II. He formed lifelong friendships with two fellow comrades, Ernie Endsley (Huntington, IN) and Allen Chandler (Burns, TN). After discharge from military service he returned to work as a locomotive fireman and engineer on the Pennsylvania Railroad for 20 years. He and his wife Ann purchased American Tile & Sales in 1961 and they operated the store until retirement in 1987. Following the death of his first wife, he married Nancy Lou Dulgar on September 21, 1991.
He was a member of United Transportation Union, Retired Railroad Mens’ Association, American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an active member at St. Leonard Catholic Church in West Terre Haute and, following the church's closing, he became a member at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Terre Haute.
He loved gardening, both vegetables and flowers, and had a yard straight out of a "Home and Garden" magazine. He had a great sense of humor, loved dancing, grilling, playing cards, building model airplanes, and woodworking. He built three houses during his lifetime. He was the ultimate "handyman" and a great neighbor. Following a snow storm, he could be seen throughout his neighborhood helping his neighbors with his snow blower. He was a big fan of NASCAR and ISU basketball, especially Larry Bird. He and his wife Nancy loved to travel and visited locations from coast-to-coast including the Talladega Super Speedway; the Indianapolis Brickyard 400; Hickory, NC; Branson, MO; Hollywood, CA; New Orleans, LA; and Phoenix, AZ.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lou Jarrett; son, Bill Jarrett; daughters, Kathy (David) Brentlinger of West Terre Haute, Rebecca (Thomas) Mueller of Indianapolis, and Peggy Jarrett of Denver; granddaughter, Nikki; great-grandson, Clayton Keller; and 16 nieces and 4 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife (Ann) and sister (Lucille).

Charles Mcgahey
Charles Allan “Chuck” Mcgahey, 56, of Terre Haute passed away Wednesday June 15, 2016 in his home surrounded by family. He was born June 10, 1960 to Harold Mcgahey and Harriet Goins Mcgahey in St. Louis, Missouri. Chuck was a member of the Burnett Bible Church and worked for Sony DADC for many years. Chuck’s passion was fishing, he and his wife Vicki fished all the time. He loved sports as well; UK basketball and Louisville baseball were his favorites. He also liked sitting on the porch, enjoying the day, counting red cars as they went by. He was a very funny man with a great sense of humor. He loved his family very much and will be deeply missed.
He is preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife, Victoria Mcgahey, his mother, Harriet Mcgahey, a stepson, Brandon Mcdonald and his wife Julie of Terre Haute, a stepdaughter, Magen Roy and her husband Christopher of Cincinnati, Ohio, a brother, Donald Mcgahey and his love Mary of Louisville, Kentuckey, seven step grandchildren, and an aunt and uncle. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Services for Chuck will be Saturday June 18, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana with Pastor David Boothe officiating.
